SAILOR BUTCHER Originating in the parish St-Jean de Mortagne with the Pole, Marin Butcher was born between 1587 and 1589. It married twice before embarking for News-France. February 7, 1611, it marriesJulienne Baril, girl of Jean Baril, of the Bar, parish of St-Langis, Mortagne.Julienne dies on December 15, 1627, after him to have given seven children. June 15, 1629, Jeanne Butcher, her s.ur, wife with St-Jean de Mortagne, Thomas Hayot and becomes the maternal ancestor of the Hayot families. About the same year, Marin takes a second wife, Perrine Malet, born between 1604 and 1606, girl of Pierre Malet and Jacqueline Liger, Courgeot in Mortagne, with the Pole. When the couple arrives to Quebec, June 4, 1634, it is Champlain itself which place them in the fort of Quebec. They are accompanied by three children of which, François Boucher 18 years old, wire of its first wife, baptized on November 22, 1617, with St-Langis-lès-Mortagne, current department of the Flowering ash. François marries on September 3, 1641, in Quebec, Florence Gareman, born about 1629, arrived with his father, the ancestor Pierre Gareman says LePicard and of his mother Madeleine Charlot. The couple of François and Florence has eleven children, whose son concerns us, in this genealogy. This wire, Denis Boucher whowas born on April 6, 1660, in Quebec, marries in 1689, Jeanne Miville, born in1671, girl of the ancestor François Miville, said LeSuisse and of Marie Langlois. Of the ten children, their daughter Marie-Anne Boucher, born July 7, 1709,wife in 1727, Joseph Martineau, wire of the ancestor Mathurin Martineau and Marie-madeleine Fiset. Of the seven children of Perrine Malet, the second woman of Sailor Butcher, four children concern us. Firstly, Francoise Butcher, baptized on June 22, 1636, in Quebec, marries in 1650, the ancestor of the Plante families, Jean, born about 1622, in Aunis. The second, Pierre Butcher, known as Pitoche, baptized on February 13, 1639, in Quebec, marry in 1663, Marie-Anne Saint-Denis, girl of the Saint-Denis ancestors, Pierre and Vivienne Brunelle, originating in Rouen, in Normandy. Their son, Pierre Butcher, born on May 4, 1673, wife Marie-madeleine Dancosse, born in 1680, girl of the ancestor Pierre Dancauseand Marie-madeleine Bouchard. Their daughter, Marie-Anne Boucher, born in 1701, wife Joseph Furrier in 1721. The third child, Madeleine Butcher, baptized on August 4, 1641, becomes the maternal ancestor of the families Houle and Houde, by its marriage with Louis Houde, in 1660. Two their wire concern us. Jacques Houde, known as Desruisseaux marries in 1692, Marie-Louise Beaudet. The other wire, Simon Houde, wife Marie Fréchette, in 1703. Finally the fourth child, Marie Butcher, born and baptized on April 11, 1644, wife in 1656, Charles Godin, ancestor of a great number of our current Godin families. The ancestor Marin Butcher played a particular role in the foundation of Beauport. Mason of its trade and inhabitant, a significant part of the building work are entrusted to him. After some time, Marin Butcher is established with his family with theSaint-Charles river, then towards the end of its life, returns in Beauport. In 1666 the census takers say it 77 years old. It dies on 29 March 1671, approximately 84 years old. Its widow, Perrine Malet, are buried in Quebec, August 25, 1687.

Marin Boucher was born in the town of Mortagne, France.  (C. Tanguay lists his place of birth as Langy)  He married twice before coming to "Nouvelle-France" (Canada).  His first wife was Julienne Baril.  She died in 1627 after giving her husband seven children.  In 1629, at the age of 42, Marin married  23 year-old Perrine Mallet in Mortagne.  After the birth of their second child in 1634, they came to Kebec (the Indian word for the place at the narrowing of the river). They arrived with all nine of Marin's children.  Samuel de Champlain invited them to stay at his house at the Fort of Quebec.  This compound was located on the rocky bank of the Saint Laurence River, just below the high cliffs which make up the pallisades of Quebec.  Marin and Perrine had their third child, Françoise, in 1636. Perrine gave her husband four more children after the birth of Françoise.  Marin played a prominent role in the establishment of the town of Beauport.  He was a mason by trade and was responsible for the building of the town.  He died there at the age of 84. His wife, Perrine, died 16 years after her husband in Quebec.
